It is located in the western part of the region 17 km east of Krasnoye , 11 km south of the P135 highway ( Smolensk - Krasny - Gusino), on the banks of the Spadtskaya River. 23 km north of the village is the Katyn railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
