Located in the northern part of the region, 19 km northeast of Dukhovshchina , 14 km east of the P136 Smolensk- Nelidovo highway, on the banks of the Pisarevka River. The railway station Yartsevo on the Moscow - Minsk line is located 34 km south-east of the village.
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
