It is located in the northern part of the region, 34 km north of Dukhovshchina , 2 km west of the P136 Smolensk- Nelidovo highway, on the banks of the Arzhat River. The railway station Yartsevo on the Moscow - Minsk line is located 54 km south-east of the village.
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
