It is located in the northern part of the region 34 km north of the Dukhovshchina , 3 km east of the P136 Smolensk- Nelidovo highway, on the banks of the Sladitsa River. 51 km southeast of the village is the Yartsevo railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
