Located in the northwestern part of the region, 18 km east of Demidov , 23 km east of the P133 Smolensk- Nevel highway. 53 km south of the village there is the railway station Rakitnaya on the Moscow - Minsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
