Geography

Located in the northwestern part of the region, 35 km north-east of Demidov , 39 km west of the P133 Smolensk- Nevel highway, on the banks of the Vasilevka River. O. p. Railway station is located 74 km south of the village . 430th km on the line Moscow - Minsk .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .

Famous People

  • Grigorii Fedorovich Fedorov (1878–1913) - a member of the State Duma of the Russian Empire from the Smolensk province, a hero of the Russo-Japanese War, a full cavalier of St. George.
