It is located in the northwestern part of the region 16 km west of Demidov , 13 km west of the R133 Smolensk- Nevel highway, on the banks of the Negovitsa River. At 42 km south of the village is the railway station O.p. 439th km on the line Smolensk - Vitebsk .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
