Located in the northwestern part of the region, 21 km south-east of Demidov , 19 km east of the P133 Smolensk- Nevel highway. 40 km south of the village there is the railway station Rakitnaya on the Moscow - Minsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
