Shashuty - a village in the Demidov district of the Smolensk region of Russia . It is part of the Kartsevo rural settlement. Population - 8 inhabitants ( 2007 ).

It is located in the northwestern part of the region, 7 km north of Demidov , 2.5 km east of the P133 Smolensk- Nevel highway. 54 km south of the village is the Poselkovaya railway station on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [1] The village ceased to exist in 2008, with the death of the last resident of Timashkova Pelageya Parfenovna.
