It is located in the northwestern part of the region, 23 km northeast of Demidov , 22 km east of the P133 Smolensk- Nevel highway, on the banks of the Polovya river. 69 km south of the village is the railway station O.p. 416th km on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
