It is located in the northwestern part of the region, 58 km northeast of Demidov , 49 km northeast of the P133 Smolensk- Nevel highway, on the banks of the Dolzhitsa River. 104 km south of the village is the Smolensk railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
