It is located in the northwestern part of the region, 29 km north-east of Demidov , 27 km east of the P133 Smolensk- Nevel highway. 80 km south of the village is the Rakitnaya railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
