Mamonovo is a village in the Gagarinsky district of the Smolensk region of Russia . It is part of the Sergo-Ivanovo rural settlement. The population is 312 inhabitants ( 2007 ).

It is located in the north-eastern part of the region 16 km south-west of Gagarin , 8 km north of the Belarus highway M1 , on the banks of the Dolzh river. 1.5 km east of the village is the railway station Sergo-Ivanovskaya on the Moscow - Minsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in March 1943 . [one]
