It is located in the north-eastern part of the region 24 km south of Gagarin , 20 km south of the Belarus highway M1 , on the banks of the Great Gzhat River. 25 km north of the village is the Gagarin railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in March 1943 [1] .
