It is located in the north-eastern part of the region, 25 km south of Gagarin , 21 km south of the M1 Belarus highway, on the banks of the Bolshaya Gzhat river. 27 km north-east of the village is the Gagarin railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in March 1943 . [one]
