It is located in the north-eastern part of the region, 6 km south of Gagarin , 2 km south of the M1 Belarus highway, on the banks of the Bolshaya Gzhat river. 7 km north of the village is the Gagarin railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .
The village consists of three streets: Molchanovskaya, Novaya and Central streets. [2]

History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in March 1943 . [3]
