It is located in the northeastern part of the region 17 km west of Gagarin , 20 km north of the Belarus highway M1 , on the banks of the Sezha River. 11 km south-east of the village is the Vasilisino railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in March 1943 . [one]
