Input devices - peripheral equipment designed to enter (enter) data or signals into a computer or other electronic device during its operation.
Input devices are divided into the following categories:
- graphic, audio and video input devices;
- mechanical input devices;
- continuous input devices (devices that provide input data continuously, for example, a mouse, radio , TV tuner );
- input devices for spatial use (e.g., two-dimensional mouse, three-dimensional navigator).
Computer pointing input devices according to the cursor control method are divided into the following categories:
- direct input pointing devices (control is carried out directly at the cursor visibility point (for example, touch panels and screens ));
- Indirect pointing devices (e.g. trackball , computer mouse ).
