It is located in the eastern part of the region, 20 km north of Vyazma , 5 km west of the P134 Stara Smolenskaya road, Smolensk - Dorogobuzh - Vyazma - Zubtsov , on the banks of the Vyazma River. 9 km east of the village is the Kasnya railway station on the Vyazma - Rzhev line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in March 1943 . [one]
