It is located in the eastern part of the region, 20 km north-east of Vyazma , 14 km south of the Belarus highway M1 , on the banks of the Zhizhal river. Isakovo railway station on the Vyazma - Kaluga line is located 8 km south of the village.
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in March 1943 . [one]
