It is located in the northwestern part of the region 12 km northeast of Velizh , 14 km north of the P133 Smolensk - Nevel highway. 82 km south of the village is the Rudnya railway station on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
