It is located in the northwestern part of the region 17 km east of Velizh , 16 km northeast of the P133 Smolensk - Nevel highway. 80 km south of the village is the Golynka railway station on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
