Located in the northwestern part of the region, 19 km east of Velizh , 17 km east of the P133 Smolensk - Nevel highway, on the banks of the river Zalyubishche. 75 km south of the village there is a railway station Golynky on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
