It is located in the northwestern part of the region, 14 km southeast of Velizh , 4 km east of the P133 Smolensk - Nevel highway. 70 km south of the village is the Golynka railway station on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
