Located in the northwestern part of the region, 15 km south-east of Velizh , 1 km west of the P133 Smolensk - Nevel highway. 60 km south of the village there is a railway station Golynky on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
