It is located in the northwestern part of the region, 26 km northeast of Velizh , 28 km northeast of the P133 Smolensk - Nevel highway, on the banks of the Mezha River . 102 km south of the village is the Kuprino railway station on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
