Solikamsky district - an administrative-territorial unit ( district ) and the abolished municipality ( municipal district ) as part of the Perm Territory of Russia .

The administrative center of the district is the city of Solikamsk (not included in the district).

By January 1, 2019, the Solikamsk municipal district was abolished, and all its rural settlements were merged with the urban district of the city of Solikamsk into a single municipal formation of the Solikamsk city district ^[6] .

The district as an administrative-territorial unit of the region retains its status ^[7] .

Geography

The Solikamsk district borders on the Usolsky , Kosinsky , Cherdynsky , Krasnovishersky , Aleksandrovsky districts of the Perm Territory and the city of Berezniki .

The climate is continental. Most of the region’s territory, about 80% of the territory, is occupied by forests and clearings, consisting mainly of conifers (spruce, fir, less often larch and cedar pine), deciduous species - birch, mountain ash, and bird cherry are also common ^[3] .

The administrative center of the district is the city of Solikamsk . The area of the district is 5,421 km² ^[8] .

History

The area appeared in 1924, from 1930 to 1938 - did not exist. The district was created on the basis of the Solikamsk, Moshevskaya, Polovodovskaya, Verkh-Yayvinskaya, Subordinate (partially), Gorodishchensky, Ust-Borovskaya, Kasibsky, Gubdor (partially) volosts of the Usolsky and Cherdynsky districts of the Perm province ^[3] .

By January 1, 2019, the Solikamsk municipal district was abolished, and all its rural settlements were merged with the urban district of the city of Solikamsk into a single municipal formation of the Solikamsk city district ^[6] .

The district as an administrative-territorial unit of the region retains its status ^[7] .
