The Battle of Tecuci is a battle between the Cossack army and the Wallachian detachment near the village of Tecuci near the Barlad River (the territory of the Principality of Moldova ) in May 1653 during the Suceava campaign of Timosz Khmelnitsky . The Wallachian detachment was personally led by the applicant for the throne of Moldova, George Stefan . George Stefan managed to retreat, in turn, the Cossack troops as a result of the battle were able to freely cross the Siret River and continue the attack on Wallachia .
