The 27th European Speed Skating Championship was held on January 23-24, 1926 in Chamonix ( France ) at the Stadium de Mont Blanc . The championship was held at four distances: 500, 1500, 5000 and 10,000 meters. Since 1926, to determine the amount of all-around baseline data were world records for distances. The world record time was estimated at 100 points, and the result of the athlete - as a percentage of this record. Only men took part in the competition - 11 skaters from 7 countries. The winner of the European Championship was Julius Skutnabb ( Finland ), the winners - Otto Polachek ( Austria ) and Uuno Pietil ( Finland ).
