Biography

He was born on May 25, 1896 in the village of Shaitanovka now in the Trinity-Pechora region of the Komi Republic into a peasant family. Russian [1] . Primary education. From the age of 12 he began to master the art of hunting. Member of the First World War .

In 1918 , having moved to the village of Upper Narykary , he began to work as a hunting hunter. Since 1936 he lived in the village of Igrim of the Aneevsky village council of the Berezovsky district of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug , where he worked as chairman of the fishing artel.

In 1941 he volunteered for the front. He was enrolled in the economic unit and only then - in the rifle regiment of the 48th Ropshinsky Red Banner Rifle Division named after M. I. Kalinin , which operated on the Leningrad Front . G.E. Sobyanin was sent to the division school of snipers, where on the eighth day they issued a sniper rifle and sent to the regiment. In the army since 1942 .

On December 23, 1944, German infantry attacked Soviet positions and burst into trenches. In an unequal battle, G. E. Sobyanin died. According to some sources, his personal account is more than 60 destroyed soldiers and officers of the enemy. He was buried in the Latvian village of Kursishi .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated June 29, 1945 “for courage and heroism shown during the forcing of the Maza-Yugla River and the liberation of Latvia”, Red Army soldier Gavriil Epifanovich Sobyanin was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union .

Feats

  • On February 25, 1944, in a battle for the village of Saakada ( Estonian SSR ), Private Sobyanin went on the offensive in front of a company, fired three German cuckoo snipers with rifle fire, and more than 10 enemy soldiers and officers.
