Personality and Biography
Almost nothing is known about the biography of Lanvall outside his creative activity. Some facts about his personality are known. For example, that he is a fan of Formula 1 . His favorite teams are the Austrian Red Bull and McLaren , and his favorite pilots are Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel . In the summer of 2009, Lanvall participated in the broadcast from the scene of the Spanish Grand Prix as a special guest from the Austrian television company ORF, which led the broadcast. [1] [2] It is also known that he is a big fan of the Star Trek series, which is one of his sources of inspiration for music, and the band's vocalist Sabina Edelsbacher is his girlfriend. [3] The musician formulates his life philosophy as follows: “Träume nicht vom Leben, lebe deinen Traum!” ( German: “Do not dream about life - live your dream!”)
Lanvall's sister [4] - Astrid Stockhammer - is also a musician: violinist, backing vocalist. Her voice can be heard in the backing vocals on “Sunrise In Eden,” and on many Edenbridge albums her violin parts.
The musician took the pseudonym Lanvall because of the unpronounceability and length of his real name (as, for example, the Greek composer Vangelis did).
Neither the place nor the year of birth of the musician, nor also anything about his musical education are known.
Creative Way
Solo career (1994-1997)
The first published compositions of Lanvall were instrumental. The creative path of the Austrian musician can be traced back to 1994, when he signs a contract with the German label WMMS Records. Soon he released his first album - the solo album "Melolydian Garden" . In addition to Lanvall, Ulbi Ulbricht (bass) and Thomas Schaufler (drums) took part in the recording of the album from musicians. The album turned out to be closer to a symphonic new age with the addition of progressive rock than to metal. The influences that are felt on the album are Wakeman, Kitaro, Vangelis , Steve Hackett, Gandalf , Yanni . It was published by WMMS Records.
In 1995, the musician met an internationally recognized compatriot, the new age musician GANDALF , and played in his group during his tour of Austria and the Netherlands. In his further creative activities, Lanvall continues to work closely with this musician. For example, instrumental parts recorded by Gandalf can also be heard on Edenbridge's albums and on Lunwall's solo albums.
In 1996, the recording of Lanvall's second album, Auramony, was completed . This is a concept album telling about the colors of the human aura (red - “My Will Is My Way”, orange - “ Cogito Ergo Sum ”, blue - “The Path of Love”, white - “Reflections In The Mirror”, purple - “The Mystic Charm ”, yellow -“ Brainstormdancer ”, green -“ A Midsummernight´s Stream ”). In addition to the above musicians of the rhythm section , Peter Aschenbrenner, a flute, participated in the recording. Gandalf also took part in his recording ( sitar , guitar). Lanwall is touring again with Gandalf, and the album receives rave reviews in the press:
“... Wonderful harmonies and bewitching melodies, brilliant interludes, emotions are revealed in all their glory, bringing the listener to the state of greatest sensitivity ... an incredible dream” (Rock Hard)
original:
"... wonderful harmonies, fascinating melodies, pearly interludes, prickling emotions are spreading in its whole beauty, skidding the listener in a state of higher perceptive faculty ... an unbelievable dream"“... the lyric poetry of rock, the melodies are filled with ideas and finds - there was nothing better to be desired. Very versatile talent. ”(X-Act)
original:
"... lyrical rock poetry, melodies full of ideas and compositions that leave nothing to be desired ... a multi talent""... A thing that must be in the collection of any dreamer-romance ..." (Spellbound)
original:"... a must for every dreamy romanticist ..."
In 1995, Lanvall met vocalist Sabina Edelsbacher. And in 1997 they create a joint project - the Edenbridge group.
The next disc, the third and last of his solo albums, is released in 1997 - “The Pyromantic Symphony” . He again gets very good marks in the press, for example these:
“... I don’t know any other musician who would combine so well the atmosphere characteristic of classical music with an electric guitar ...” (Spellbound) "
original:"... I don't know any other musician, who combines classical influences with electric guitar so well ..." "
He then paused his solo career to create a band.

Edenbridge (1998 - present)
Main article: Edenbridge
EDENBRIDGE was first planned as a studio project. It was composed by vocalist Sabina Edelsbacher, guitarist and keyboard player, as well as the author of all texts and music by Lanvall, bassist Kurt Bednarski and drummer Roland Navratil. The style of Lanvall in the group, in comparison with his solo activities, has changed significantly: the sound was heavier and vocals were added, however, the corporate style of the guitar was retained. Later, the group accepted the second guitarist - Georg Edelmann - and began to perform live.
Edenbridge recorded 8 studio albums, as well as 5 other discs (singles, live albums, compilation). (See the section “Discography.”) The members of the group changed over the years, only the creative tandem of Sabina - Lanvall remained unchanged.
The first 5 albums were released by Massacre Records, and in 2007 the group, having already received quite a lot of recognition from listeners and critics, switched to a larger label - Napalm Records .
In 2010, the group released a new album - "Solitaire". He is notable for the fact that one of his songs ("Higher") Edenbridge shot a video clip - the first in the history of the group.
