History
In 1713, in the village of Mytishchi, the chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was consecrated, and in 1735 the church in the name of the Most Holy Theotokos of Vladimir with the side chapel of St. Nicholas was mentioned. A brick church of the “octagon on four” type with a three-part apse and refectory belongs to the monuments of Moscow Baroque . In 1817 - 1819 The church building is undergoing major repairs. During it, the bell tower and the refectory of the refectory were dismantled due to dilapidation, instead of which a stone refectory and a new round bell tower about seven bells were put. It became the tallest building, attracting general attention. Near the church there was a cemetery where the nurse of Alexander II Evdokia Gavrilovna Kartseva was buried. ( 1794 - 1845 ). Church chapels were built in 1832 (north) and in 1899 (south, according to the project of architect B.N. Schnaubert ). After 1917, the church closed for several years. In 1925, according to the Treaty with the Moscow County Council of Workers, Peasants and Soldiers' Deputies, the Christian community of the Church of the Vladimir Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary was registered in the village of Bolshoi Mytishchi. Community activities continued until 1935 . For a long time there was a factory in the rebuilt temple. In 1941, the bell tower was demolished, as it served as the main reference point for the Nazi invaders. Since 1968, the GUVD warehouse was located in the temple. On June 20, 1991, after a long break in the church, the first service took place. In 2000, the bell tower was restored.
There is a Sunday school at the temple.
