The flag and the coat of arms represent an image on a blue background of a silver flying Pegasus , which symbolizes Vnukovo Airport , which served as a reason for settling the area. Below is a silver key in the red tip, symbolizing the airport as the Moscow air gate [19] .
Origin of title
The Vnukovo district received its name from the name of the village, which was owned in the 16th century by Semyon Grigorievich , nicknamed Grandson , a descendant of Smolensk princes [20] . According to another version, the name is associated with the estate in Izvarino, acquired by the Apricot for their grandchildren and called “Vnukovo” [21] .
History
XVII — XVIII centuries
The first mention of this territory was preserved from the middle of the 17th century : originally it was a village called Izvarino, which in 1627 was listed as the estate of Ivan Birkin. At the beginning of the 40s of the 17th century, Izvarino went to Samoil Ivanovich Birkin, who died in 1646, and soon after his death the land was given to Mikhail Rtischev . In 1650, Izvarino as a dowry passed to Mikhail's daughter, Rtischeva, Anna Mikhailovna. She sold it twenty years later to the power-fronted keymaster Yakov Petrovich Bulychev. When he was here built a new church in the name of Elijah the Prophet , and the village became a village. Bulychev owned the estate for six years, then conceded to Tsar Fedor Alekseevich , in 1676 he granted Izvarino to Prince Fedor Kurakin . It is known that under Kurakin there was a manor with cattle and stable yards, as well as seven peasant households. In 1683, Fyodor Kurakin gave the village as a dowry to her daughter Anna Feodorovna, who married Prince Andrey Mikhailovich Cherkassky. At the beginning of the 18th century, the village belonged to their son Alexander, he died in 1749, and the village passed to a widow, Anna Ivanovna, and six years later to her son, Alexei Alexandrovich Cherkassky [22] .
XIX — XX centuries
After laying the railway at the turn of the XIX - XX centuries, the land Izvarino become dacha places. In the guide for choosing dachas of that time, this area was marked as mushroom, berry and fish. In the 1930s, the construction of a new airport was planned in the Vnukovo region, it began in 1938, and at the same time a village was founded for aerodrome workers and pilots. The first stage of the airfield was ready on July 2, 1941. After World War II, the airport became civilian and began serving flights throughout the USSR and other countries. The village of Vnukovo in 1947 was ranked among the workers' villages , and in 1984 it became part of Moscow [22] .
