Description

The street runs parallel to Veresaeva Street and the Aminevskoye Highway from a small forest near the Mozhayskoye Highway to the Setun River. The streets are connected with the streets of Veresaev , Tyulpannaya and Artamonova Kozlova by nameless driveways. On the street there were summer cottages with apple orchards and one-story wooden houses, not one of them was preserved.

In the northern part, the street has no asphalt surface and looks like an abandoned clearing with wooden poles in the midst of coppice. The asphalt pavement in the southern part of the street is the result of the passage connecting the streets of Veresaev, Tulipnaya and Kozlova, made the exit to Aminievskoe highway. This is not Kozlova street as such.

Name Origin

Map of the city of Kuntsevo in 1940, on which Kozlova street is visible

An article from the newspaper "Banner of Ilyich" dated November 7, 1957

The street was named in the 1930s in the city of Kuntsevo, Moscow Region, in honor of the first chairman of the Kuntsevo volost executive committee, Sergei Vasilyevich Kozlov, who was killed by wealthy peasants in October 1918. [1] Previously called Martynovsky passage. When included in the city of Moscow in 1960, the name was retained.

For a long time, the origin of the name was not reliably established. The name of the street has no relation to famous people who bore the name Kozlov, including the poet I. I. Kozlov , who lived in Kuntsev. The 5th edition of the guide β€œNames of Moscow Streets” (M .: Mosk. Rabochiy, 1988) provides a version heard by Yu. K. Efremov from unnamed local residents, as if the name was given in the 1920s . in honor of the political exiled Kozlov, the organizer of the Red Dawns state farm, who died in the neighboring village of Novo-Ivanovskaya [2] and was buried with revolutionary honors in a red coffin upholstered in red cloth. (unavailable link from 10/27/2013 [2117 days]) However, the compilers of the directory could not be found more detailed information about Comrade Kozlov (his name, patronymic, exact dates of birth and death), as well as documents about his involvement in the creation of the state farm " Red Dawns ”, whose name is retained by one of the nearest streets . In the future, Yu. K. Efremov did not return to the version of the revolutionary Kozlov.

Due to the uncertainty of origin, the pronunciation of the name "Kozlova Street" has taken root. In this form, it is included in the All-Moscow Classifier of Moscow Streets.
