Hamlin became the world champion in women's luge 2009 . Prior to this, her highest achievement was fifth in the 2007 championship . In the World Cup, her best indicator is the fourth position in the 2009/2010 and 2015/2016 seasons.
Hamlin participated in the Winter Olympics three times. At the 2006 Turin Games, she ended up in twelfth place. At the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, Erin became sixteenth. And at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, the American was able to climb the podium, becoming the third in the competitions of the girls.
In 2017, the American sleigh rider became a two-time world champion, winning sprint competitions. And then Hamlin twice became the vice champion of the world, taking second place in single races and relay races.
