About the album
The Fathomless Mastery was recorded in the second half of summer at Park Studio , where drums were recorded, and Cutting Room with Björn Engelmann . Produced by him, as well as the minion, David Castillo together with the group itself. Dusty Petterson also worked on the cover, who also worked on the cover of the minion, and photographs were taken by Robin Bergh .
The album was released on Peaceville Records , as both predecessors, the release took place on October 6, 2008 . This album is the third full-length and sixth number album of the group.
For the song Hades Rising , a video clip was shot in 2009, which became the first official in the history of the group.
At The Fathomless Mastery, the group combined the hard pressure of an EP release, which is full of blast beats and melodies, and a slightly dirty sound of the first works. The result was a combination of the old-school percussion technique with the melody of modern brutal death metal , in addition, double bass barrels and a lot of tempo of the game were used during the recording.
Back at the end of the Blackheim sessions, he stated the following:
“The material is nothing but vicious brutality with a lot of heavy groove. From the point of view of riffs, we play with dissonant harmonies, from which a feverish obsessive feeling arises, but we still returned melodic elements with the concept of the sound of a flying bee from previous albums to present a classical sound, so that should come out nice and varied, we hope to put everything together to make the most destructive album ... " [1]
Incredible success
The album was so liked by all kinds of critics and publications that in many publications it took only the highest places and had only high ratings, a huge number of magazines around the world noticed and appreciated the new creation of the Swedes. Blackheim posted a message on the band’s official website with a rating of some of the world’s heavy music publications, stating that it’s simply impossible to post all the reviews.
