The Earthen rampart in Moscow is a line of fortifications that existed on the site of the current Garden Ring in 1593-1830. Served as the border of the Earth City and defended it from external attacks. It was first erected in 1592-1593. under Fedor Ioannovich , he covered only the northern part of the city without Zamoskvorechye . It was an earthen rampart with a moat in front of it and wooden fortifications. The fortifications were burned by the Poles in 1611. It was renewed and extended in 1638-1641 under Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich : he also defended Zamoskvorechye. Torn at the end of the XVIII century by order of Count Z. G. Chernyshev .
