Origin of title
At the beginning of the 20th century, a buttermilk and leather factory arose on the Setun River , later called it. Nogina. According to this factory in the city of Kuntsevo , Nogin Street was called, leading from Mozhayskoye Highway .
After the city of Kuntsevo was incorporated into Moscow in 1960, it was replaced due to the same name, the street became Vitebskaya , in the Belarusian city of Vitebsk due to its location in the west of Moscow [3] .
Location
The street starts from Mozhayskoye highway at its intersection with Kubinka street and passes south to the intersection with Dorogobuzhskaya street - there is a two-lane street on this section. After Dorogobuzhskaya street Vitebsk runs along the territory of the former factory them. Nogina and garages - on this section of the street, asphalt was laid only in 2011. The road on this site strongly winds.

North West Chord
North-West Chord - a road in Moscow. It is being built instead of the Fourth Ring Road , which it was decided to abandon due to its extreme high cost. It consists of 5 sections, which are designed and built separately from each other.
Vitebsk Street will be part of the 4 (southern) section of the North-West Chord [2] .
In the course of public hearings on the passage of the North-Western Chord, residents voiced many complaints and observations. As a result, the project of the highway along the streets Kubinka, Tolbukhina, Vitebsk and Vyazemskaya corrected, reducing the number of lanes from four to three [4] . But now there are four lanes on the street in the direction of the highway, two lanes in the other direction.
