Geography
Located in the east of the region. Borders on the South Bohemian regions of České Budějovice in the west and Tábor in the northwest. It is adjacent to the Vysocina regions of the Pelgrzyms in the north, Jihlava and Trebic in the northeast; in the east it borders with the South Moravian region of Znojmo . In the south is the state border with Austria .
The border between the historical regions of the Czech Republic (Bohemia) and Moravia passes through the area. 78 municipalities with 68,838 inhabitants are located in the Czech Republic, 24 in Moravia (18,200 inhabitants). 4 settlements ( Kunzhak , Strmilov , Studena , Zagradki ) with a population of 5,599 people are located directly on the border.
