Rozhnova Island , also Gibbs ( Eng. Gibbs Island ) - a small island of the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands about 20 kilometers south-west of the island of Mordvinova (Elephant) .

Geography
Separated from the island of Mordvinova Strait Loper ( born Loper Channel ). The size of the island is about 13 km long and 2 km wide. The highest point is 520 meters above sea level.
History
In 1821, during the first Russian Antarctic expedition, F. Bellingshausen was named Rozhnov Island in honor of Admiral Peter Rozhnov . Since the discovery of the South Shetland Islands, he has been well known to hunters and bore different names. The name Gibbs first appears on the map of James Waddell in 1825, and is currently used in international cartography [1] .
