The 23rd European Speed Skating Championship was held February 11 - 12, 1922 in Helsinki ( Finland ). The championship was held at four distances: 500, 1500, 5000 and 10000 meters. Only men took part in the competitions - 15 skaters from 2 countries. The winner of the European Championship was Klas Tunberg ( Finland ), the prize winners were Ole Olsen ( Norway ) and Asser Wallenius ( Finland ). This is the first championship of the Old World after an 8-year break associated with the First World War.
