About the album
After the collapse of The Birthday Party, Nick Cave created a new team that included: The Birthday Party member Mick Harvey , Einstürzende Neubauten member Blixa Bargeld , Magazine member Barry Adamson and the unemployed Hugo Rays . The band's first performance took place in 1983 in Melbourne , on New Year's Eve, when it was still called Nick Cave - Man Or Myth ?. During the ensuing tour, the band was first called Nick Cave and the Cavemen and, ultimately, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. [1] The Bad Seeds phrase refers to a low-quality drug , also a link to the latest mini-album, The Birthday Party Mutiny / The Bad Seed . Most of From Her to Eternity was recorded in 1984 in London , “Saint Huck”, “Wings off Flies” and “A Box for Black Paul” were recorded a year earlier. The title of the album is a reference to the American drama " From Now and Forever ." From Her to Eternity was extremely positively received by critics, for example, Chris Long called him "imperfect, visceral, exciting and, finally, classic." [2]
