Career

The best years of Amaral’s career took place at the Palmeiras club, for which he played from 1992 to 1995 and in 1997, having played 244 matches (Verdao won 149 times, tied 56 times and lost 39 matches), scoring only 1 goal in the Libertadores Cup match with Gremio [3] and won with the team two Brazilian championships and three state championships . Between these two periods at Palmeiras, Amaral played in Italy for Parma and in Portugal for Benfica .

In 1998, Amaral returned from Portugal to Brazil and transferred to the camp of the main rival of Palmeiras Club Corinthians , where he was invited by the former mentor of Amaral in Palmeiras, Vanderlei Lusemburgo and won three titles with this team in a year - state championship, Brazil championship and the Rio Sao Paulo Tournament . After Lusemburgo left the club, Amaral left Corinthians and moved to the Vasco da Gama club, with whom he won the Brazilian championship in 2000. Then he played in Italy in Fiorentina , with which he celebrated his victory in the Italian Cup . And in Turkey, at the Besiktas club.

Then Amaral played in his homeland, in Qatar, in Poland, and ended his career in 2009 at the Australian club “ Perth Glory ”.

Amaral played for the Brazilian national team from 1995 to 1996. He spent 31 matches for the national team, including games at the Olympics in 1996, where the Brazilians took third place.
