Golden-winged finch ( lat. Rhynchostruthus ) is a genus of songbirds from the finch family. It is represented by three species that are found on the Arabian Peninsula and in northern Somalia . Two of them are close to a vulnerable position (according to IUCN classification), the third ( Socotra endemic ) is in relative safety.

Birds of medium size, with pronounced sexual dimorphism . The color of males varies from green-brown to gray-brown, the plumage of females is not so variegated. Young birds seem to be more ordinary-looking and do not have a dark “mask” characteristic of adult specimens on their heads.
The area of the golden-winged finch is between the heights of 1060 and 2800 m above sea level, occupying the areas of wadi and shrubs.
The food for the birds are the fruits of juniper , acacia and milkweed .
