Ming ( Egypt. Mnw ; incorrect transcription of Hem ) - in Egyptian mythology, the god of fertility and the patron of wandering caravans , revered in Koptos . Revered from pre-dynastic times, his cult became orderly under King Scorpio (Serket). Ming was dedicated to lettuce. In the early stages of ancient Egyptian history, he was identified with the Choir , during the period of the New Kingdom - with Amon ( Amon-Min , Kamutef ). Mina's right hand is turned upward, a whip in the form of the constellation Orion is embedded in it, the left hand is usually not depicted on Egyptian frescoes, but on statues she grabs the phallus at the base, completely pulling the flesh from the head of the penis, which as a result looks like a circumcised one.

Mina Festival
Pharaoh cut the first sheaf with a sickle and laid it in front of the statue of God. The festival of Mina was celebrated at the beginning of the farming season, when the pharaoh hoeed the field with a chopper and watered water under the personal supervision of the god Mina. When the pharaoh entered the reign, he was also considered the heir to Mina. During the festivities dedicated to Mina, naked men participated in contests, games dedicated to God, such as climbing a high pole, probably from a tent.
A festive move was led by a white bull on Mina's feast.
Cult History
Ming is considered a pre-dynastic deity. In the most ancient era, he was the god of heaven and was a constellation of Orion . The cult of the deity went to Koptos, Ombos , Hemmis and Nubia. With the development of Koptos, Ming began to take on the features of God - the patron saint of trade, deserts and caravans. He was the protector of caravans from Koptos to the Red Sea. As the deity of “foreign countries,” Ming patronized merchants, pilgrims, nomads, and hunters. The mine was also honored by miners and quarry workers.
Ming's attribute was lettuce, which was considered an aphrodisiac , as it was tall, straight, and when rubbed it secreted a whitish liquid, thereby resembling a penis.
Modern views
Muslims and Christians carefully destroyed all the images and statues of an erected deity by shooting from weapons. Especially they tried to knock out the phallus. Egyptologists in England photographed the statues of God only waist-high, bypassing the genitals , or found various ways to cover the flesh. However, for the Egyptians themselves, this image was not particularly reprehensible: in their hot climate, the workers in the fields, dancers and servants were naked, the children did not wear any clothes even in their teens, right up to the first sexual contact or marriage .
