Symbols
The flag of the city is designed on the basis of its coat of arms , which in the language of symbols and allegories reflects the historical, cultural and natural features of the city.
Guryevsk is one of the oldest cities in Kuzbass . It was founded in 1816 as a working village near the silver smelter. Today, as over the course of many years, the core, city-forming enterprise is a metallurgical plant, which changed its profile from silver to iron and iron-smelting. The economic development of all of Siberia in the 19th century largely depended on the Guryev Plant. There was a mechanical factory that provided all gold mines, mines and other enterprises of the region with equipment. And in the XX century, the Guryevsky Plant played a key role in the economic development of Kuzbass. From here began the full-scale industrialization of the region. The image of the yellow (gold) steel ladle symbolizes the importance of production not only in the life of the townspeople themselves, but of the whole Kuzbass. Red color - a symbol of courage, strength, industry, beauty and celebration - on the flag of the city emphasizes the role of metallurgists, allegorically symbolizing the thermal reactions characteristic of metallurgical production.
The city of Guryevsk, despite its industrial character, is surrounded by the green sea of the Salair taiga. The natural wealth of the region is reflected on the flag with golden firs and green. Spruce is a traditional symbol of long life, undying nature, rebirth.
Green color is a symbol of nature, health, life growth.
Blue color is a symbol of honor, nobility, spirituality and clear sky.
Yellow color ( gold ) is a symbol of wealth, stability, respect and intelligence.
