The flag was approved on May 30, 2002 as the flag of the municipal entity Mezhdurechensk - Mezhdurechensk district (after the municipal reform of 2006 - the municipal entity "Mezhdurechensk city district") and entered in the State Heraldry Register of the Russian Federation with assignment of registration number 1064.
Description
“The flag of the city is a rectangular cloth with an aspect ratio of 2: 3, bearing in the center the image of figures from the coat of arms of the city.
The heraldic description of the coat of arms reads as follows: “ In a scarlet (red) field, a stone shining with silver (with rays of unequal length) lying on a green included tip, burdened with two narrow azure (blue, blue) belts, finely framed with silver, of which the lower right is distracted and at the end it is indirectly connected from above . ”
Justification of Symbols
The flag is based on the coat of arms of the municipality, according to the rules and relevant traditions of heraldry, and reflects historical, cultural, socio-economic, national and other local traditions.
The flag of the city shows its main natural wealth of the region - coal.
The main figure of the flag is a piece of coal against the background of a flash, which allegorically shows the fire, heat and light that coal gives.
The black color in heraldry symbolizes prudence, wisdom, modesty, honesty and eternity of being.
The green strip with two blue belts reflects the taiga, the Tom and Usu rivers at the confluence of which the city is located. Green color in heraldry is a symbol of spring, joy, hope, life, nature, as well as a symbol of health.
Blue color ( azure ) in heraldry is a symbol of honor, glory, devotion, truth, virtue and clear sky.
White color ( silver ) - symbolizes purity, wisdom, nobility, peace, mutual cooperation.
The red color of the banner symbolizes the energy that gives life to the city and the fire that melts the metal, as well as a symbol of labor, warmth, activity, courage, celebration and beauty.
