History
Antalyaspor Football Club was created in 1966 at the merger of three local teams (Enikapi SuSpor, Ilk Ishikspor and Ferrokromspor), to create a single professional football club in the city. At first, the club played in the lower leagues of the Turkish championship, but in the 1981/82 season the team took first place in the group, receiving a promotion to the Super League . Antalyaspor spent its debut seasons on the verge of relegation, and in the 1984/85 season it took off in the first league. After a season, the club again rose to the Super League, and immediately flew out again. The next historical segment of Antalyaspor falls on 1993-2002. In the 1993/94 season , where the team in the playoffs finals of the first league won in extra time the Istanbulspor club 3: 2 and reached the Super League. The team twice made it to the Intertoto Cup ( 1996 , 1997 ). In the 1998/99 season, the team achieved the sixth highest Super League record ever. In 2000, Antalyaspor became the finalist of the Turkish Cup , in the final of which it could not beat Galatasaray in extra time, losing 5: 3 (2: 2 in regular time), since Galatasaray became the champion that season, then the cup place in the UEFA Cup went to the club from Antalya. Antalyaspor confidently overcame the qualifying round in the UEFA Cup by defeating the Azerbaijani Ganja club in the sum of two matches 7: 0 (2: 0, 0: 5), but in the first round lost to Bremen Werder 2: 6 (2: 0 , 6: 0). In the 2001/02 season , the team took off, taking the penultimate place. In 2006, the club rose to the Super League, from where it immediately flew out, in 2008, taking second place, returned to the top division.
