Team History

In 1928, Alexander Sveshnikov created a choir at the Radio Committee of the USSR [1] [2] . On its basis, in accordance with Order No. 185 of the Committee on Arts under the SNK of the USSR of April 29, 1936, the State Choir of the USSR was established with the wording: “In order to develop propaganda of choral culture, and especially Russian folk song, and create an exemplary choir ensemble: State Philharmonic Society to begin on May 5, 1936, the formation of the State Choral Chapel of 150 people. " [3]

The tasks of the chorus included, first of all, the wide propaganda of Soviet music, which was actively created in those years in a wide variety of genres - from cantatas and oratorios to songs and choral miniatures. A significant place in the repertoire of the choir was given to Russian and foreign choral classics, the performance of which corresponded to the educational tasks of the collective.

The leadership of the Goshor of the USSR was entrusted to two outstanding musicians - the honored artist of the RSFSR A. V. Sveshnikov and the professor of the Moscow Conservatory N. M. Danilin . On February 26, 1937, the first concert of the USSR State Choir, conducted by A. V. Sveshnikov, took place in the Hall of Columns. In 1937-39 Goshor was led by N. M. Danilin, in 1941-80 - A. V. Sveshnikov. In 1971, for outstanding achievements in the development of Soviet musical art, the choir was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, and its artistic director A.V. Sveshnikov was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor , the first among musicians performing.
