The AO Kovalevsky Prize is a scientific award of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and the Russian Academy of Sciences . It was established in 1940 with the wording “for outstanding achievements in the field of embryology” [1] . Awarded by the Department of General Biology (SAR) of the Russian Academy of Sciences "for outstanding work in the field of developmental biology, general, comparative and experimental embryology of invertebrates and vertebrates."
